In an urban dominated district the countryside is increasingly important for recreation yet this creates pressures that can damage the very features that we wish to enjoy, and create conflict with those that make a living from it. The conservation of the countryside requires the council to work alongside the statutory, public and private sectors to ensure that is conserved for both present and future generations.
