Countryside - local access forum

The West Lothian Access Forum was established in 1997. In 2005, with enactment of the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003, it became a statutory body. Its sole role is to advise the council on Rights of Way and the access legislation under the Land Reform Act.

The Forum's current membership is shown below. The full Forum generally meets three times a year. The Forum's Steering Group meets a further three or four times a year to advise and assist the council in the more day to day issues related to access across the district.

It was recently agreed that the minutes of the Forum should be made available on the council's website. The first set of minutes are attached here for the meeting held in October 2006 which were approved as a correct record at its meeting in March 2007. The minutes of subsequent meetings will also be posted here.

If you wish to raise any matters with the Forum you should write, email or phone the Access Officer who will pass it on to the Forum Chair.
