The policy of improving play areas in West Lothian has been proceeding for a number of years. Opportunities to participate in play activities are essential to the healthy mental, physical, social and emotional development of children. The main objectives are to ensure that children have accessible, safer, inclusive fun and stimulating play environments.
New play park coming to Eliburn
Local children are being consulted on plans to create an inspirational play area at Eliburn Park in Livingston, between Eliburn reservoir and Houston Road.
West Lothian Council have teamed up with Jupiter Play & Leisure to create a unique £200,000 play area.
Current proposals will see different play areas for different ages/groups in the park which will have been specially designed to be inclusive of young people of all ages and abilities.
Information is also available online at www.jupiterplay.co.uk/eliburn (new window) for anyone who is interested to look at the plans and comment on them
