Air pollution

West Lothian Council is committed to fulfilling the requirements of the Local Air Quality Management (LAQM) process in accordance with National Guidance (see 1 & 2 in Resources). Environmental Health regularly reviews and assesses air quality throughout the district to determine whether or not the air quality objectives are likely to be achieved.

Air pollutants such as Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) and particulates (PM10) which are mainly associated with vehicle emissions are measured using a network of air quality monitoring equipment throughout West Lothian.
