Airdrie - Bathgate Rail Link

 

Project update
The new rail link was opened on 12 December 2010 and is now fully operational. The new link enables trains to run all the way from the west of Scotland through Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh Waverley, via Airdrie and Bathgate.

Network Rail have produced a film called 'The Airdie Bathgate story' to document the significant milestones of the project and features views from those behind the construction process, the local people who will benefit from the new line, as well as politicians and business owners.

Relocated Cycle Path, National Cycle Network Route 75
The 14 mile replacement cycle path has been completed and is now open to the public. The signing and other minor improvements will be completed in the next few weeks.
