Support for gifted children
General
Under the Education (Additional Support for Learning) (Scotland) Act 2004, Education Authorities have a duty to establish procedures for identifying and meeting the additional support needs of every child for whose education they are responsible.
Musically gifted children
The council supports children with outstanding talent. This normally takes the
form of a grant towards the fees to go to the Junior Royal Scottish Academy of
Music and Drama in Glasgow. More information can be obtained from the Arts
