A smoke alarm is designed to give early warning of developing fires. Having a smoke alarm could make all the difference to the you and your families safety so you should never try to disconnect, paint or move your alarm. Clean your smoke alarm regularly to keep the dust off it and improve its efficiency.
Check your alarm at least once a month to make sure that it is still working properly.
