Homeless People Housing Advice

West Lothian Council has a strategic duty to house homeless applicants. The council also has a duty to provide advice and assistance to those threatened with homelessness.

The Councils aims are as follows

  •  To reduce the overall levels of homelessness in the district
  •  To reduce the incidence of repeat homelessness in West Lothian
  •  To prevent homelessness in West Lothian
  •  To ensure that accommodation and support services are delivered within a partnership framework
  •  To minimise the damage homelessness causes to families, communities and neighbourhoods

HomeAid West Lothian (new window) can provide essential furniture and white goods for people who have taken up tenancies.
