Fairtrade in Uphall

Fairtrade Mark

The Uphall Fairtrade Group achieved their Fairtrade Village status in February of 2007 after almost a year of working towards the objectives required. They celebrated their success by hosting an event the following month, coinciding it with Fairtrade Fortnight. This made it a double celebration! With many local representatives in attendance, Uphall was delighted to receive their official Fairtrade Village certificate.

In preparation of applying for Fairtrade status, throughout 2006 and into 2007 the Uphall members organised numerous events in order to promote Fairtrade throughout their village. They successfully achieved this by spreading the message through different means.

Uphall Fairtrade activities: Activities have included holding Fairtrade goods displays at various local sites and events, hosting Fairtrade coffee mornings, organising Fairtrade talks and free Fairtrade sampling events.
