Young people welcome Vennie reopening

The Knightsridge Adventure Playground, known locally as the Vennie, has now reopened.

The news has been welcomed by local young people, who helped to restore the building to its former glory, including painting a new mural on the walls.

An exciting range of new play equipment is to be installed at the adjacent play area.

Councillor Andrew Miller, chair of Livingston North Local Area Committee, also welcomed the news: He said: "I'm delighted we have reopened the Vennie. "It's vital to the area that we work hard to improve the range of activities available for young people."

Family fun day

Livingston Family Centre is holding a fun day on Friday 5 September to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

The fun day will run from 12.30 to 3pm.

Connecting the community at Carmondean

Carmondean library has been transformed into an integrated hub for council and health services.

Councillor Andrew Miller, chair of the Livingston North Local Area Committee, officially opened the Carmondean Connected modern partnership facility .

The refurbished building offers a range of services for the benefit of the whole community.

Careers Scotland - out and about

Staff from Careers Scotland will be visiting Carmondean Library on Friday 25th July from 10.00am to 12 noon, to provide information and advice on the variety of services they provide. No need to make an appointment - just pop in and speak to an adviser.

Smoothies at family event

An information day at the Family Centre in Eliburn was well attended.

The purpose of the event was to provide information for families attending the centre.

Representatives from WELFED, Get Cooking, food co-op, fire and rescue service and Penumbra were on hand to offer advice.

Fruit smoothies and various edible delights were available throughout the day.

New contract for local company

A West Lothian photo-copying company has just won a five-year contract to supply Renfrew Council Valuation Joint Board with eight new large Olivetti copier systems.

Based at Knightsridge West, Park Digital is now Scotland's largest Olivetti Dealer.

The contract was secured just weeks after Park Digital extended their premises and opened a brand new showroom. Managing Director David Park said: "Renfrew Council chose to have both colour and mono olivetti copier systems, with scanning, document management and remote servicing.

"This contract demonstrates how we are going from strength to strength, due to offering a service second to none in this extremely competitive market place."
