Setting off for the seaside

Buckets and spades were in plentiful supply when Loganlea Miners Welfare Charitable Society held their annual seaside trip on Monday, 21 July.

And the sun shone brightly as dozens of villagers boarded the bus, bound for Burntisland.

Warm welcome at women's group

There's always a warm welcome waiting at the Stoneyburn Women's Health and Wellbeing GroupThere's always a warm welcome waiting at the Stoneyburn Women's Health and Wellbeing Group.

Run by Doreen Meiklem and Anne Rogan, the group meets at Stoneyburn Community Centre from 1 to 3pm every Thursday.

Healthy eating is one of the many topics covered by the group.

Trip to the park

Youngsters at the Pitstop, Addiewell, enjoyed a trip to Strathclyde Park on Monday, 7 July. Youngsters at the Pitstop, Addiewell, enjoyed a trip to Strathclyde Park .

The trip was one of a number of summer outings to set off from the popular centre.

The outing was organised by West Lothian Youth Action project.

The Pitstop are holding an open day from 12 noon on Saturday 2 August.  All facilities will be free on the day, as will tea and coffee.

Really wild star at West Lothian Zoo

Michaela hosted the popular programme for more than a dozen years.

TV crews have been filming at the zoo over the past few weeks, making a documentary to be shown on Channel 5.

The zoo, which also boats a state-of-the-art soft play area, is home to numerous species of animals, including what is thought to be Scotland's only albino skunk.

The word on the street

Old fashioned street games were on offer at Stoneyburn Community Centre on Monday, 7 JulyWhat do 'cat's cradle', 'elastics' and 'sleeping princess' have in common? 

They're all old fashioned street games.

And they were on the menu at Stoneyburn community centre.

Amongst those enjoying the games was Hannah McCarvill, whose mum, Carol, also got into the spirit of things.

Other games included skipping and 'what's the time Mr Wolf'

Polbeth soccer school

Polbeth United Community Football Club soccer school takes place on a Tuesday night at Limefield Park, Polbeth, between 6.30pm and 7.30pm for boys and girls aged four upwards.
