Grandparents of all children who attend nursery and groups at the integrated Early Years Centre, Bathgate, were invited to join children and staff for a special community celebration on Thursday 18 September

The Lesson at Regal theatre

There is a full programme of events at the Regal Community Theatre, Bathgate.

On Tuesday, 14 October, The Lesson is a play by Eugene Ionesco. Tickets cost £10, £7 for concessions or £4 for West Lothian school pupils. Teachers are admitted free.

Charity fundraiser for Motor Neurone Disease

The art group at Blackburn Support Services has donated a a painting to help raise money for the Scottish Motor Neurone Disease Trust.

And the group's tutor, Joe Hawthorne, also donated a 'very limited' edition print of his painting of Dalmahoy Church to help the cause.

Moira is the best of British

A Bathgate woman has won the UK Outdoor Singles Ladies Championship for visually impaired bowlersA Bathgate woman has won the UK Outdoor Singles Ladies Championship for visually impaired bowlers.

Moira Potter, from Stevenson Terrace, took the title at Ayr, after winning bronze at her previous attempt, in Wales, two years ago.

She paid tribute to her coach, George Murdoch, from Uphall, who acts as her eyes on the green.

Moira, who also won a West Lothian Council sporting achievement award in 2006, was presented with her quaich and gold medal by Councillor Willie Boyle.
