Sport and Outdoor Education Service
The Sport and Outdoor Education Service creates and develops opportunities for people to take part in a wide range of sport and physical activities.
The Outdoor Education Team operates out of the Low Port Centre in Linlithgow and offers a wide range of outdoor education activity, residential opportunities, meeting rooms and a games hall for community use. The Sports and Facilities Development Team works with community clubs, schools and individuals in order to increase the opportunities available to the residents of West Lothian. The Sports and Facilities Development Team is able to achieve this through working with a number of partners to provide:
- Club Development through our Club Accreditation Scheme
- Coach Education
- Sporting Grants Scheme
- School Competitions
- Community Sports Hubs
- Facility Development
- Divisionary Activities through Cashback funding
- High Performance Sport through the Excellence in School Sports Programme
The Sport and Outdoor Education Service works very closely with a number of key partners to provide the public with opportunities to become and stay physically active. These partners include:
- Active Schools Network
- Sportscotland
- West Lothian Leisure
- Sports Governing Bodies.
