Voting by proxy is when you ask someone else to vote on your behalf.
Who can apply for a proxy vote?
Only people with a specific reason such as a disability or living overseas can apply to vote by proxy on a long-term basis.
To vote by proxy for just one election, you must have a reason. For example you will be on holiday. However, if you become ill after this time, you can apply to vote by proxy for medical reasons.
