Environmental Health - Licences

 

Environmental Health carry out a number of duties with regard to all premises which require to have a licence under the various Acts which relate to:

  • animal boarding
  • dog breeding
  • pet shops
  • dangerous wild animals
  • riding establishments
  • zoos
  • houses in multiple occupation (HMOs)
  • caravan sites

The Environmental Health team will: monitor and control the operation of all premises in which animals are boarded, sold or kept; identify and regulate all houses in multiple occupation; monitor and control conditions in premises which require to have a licence under the various Acts and liaise with other Council service units regarding these licences; monitor and control conditions in caravan sites and in all these cases to ensure a good level of compliance with the relevant laws.
