Trading standards - weights and measures

Weights and Measures are a statutory function of Trading Standards to ensure that all transactions based on quantity measurement are accurate.  Accuracy of weighing and measuring equipment in use for trade ensures a fair and level playing field for all business and consistency of measurement nation-wide.  It also protects consumers from short and inaccurate measure. 

We also operate a Public Weighbridge.  The opening times are Mon - Thurs 8.30am to 5pm and Fri 8.30am to 4pm.  The current charges for use are as follows:

• £9.50 per ticket inc VAT (includes tare & gross weights)
• £1.00 duplicate ticket inc VAT
