Calling residents of Livingston North
Work is due to start this autumn on a new play park in Livingston North.
£2.3 million will be spent to make the green space an exciting new recreational area for all. It will include playparks, sports pitches, a pavilion and a new picnic area.
All this, combined with the existing reservoir and woodlands, will form a fantastic and interesting district park for Livingston.
To help ensure that the park is well used and really lives up to its potential, residents who have an interest in the future development are being invited to become friends of the park.
Participants will help run events (large or small), organise sports activities, watch wildlife, find out about local history and raise funds for future events.
One meeting has already taken place, which was well attended. The enthusiasm of the people who attended has helped identify the need for organising an open day, for when the park is finished.
If you're interested in any of the above, or have ideas you want to share, come to Newyearfield Community Centre on Thursday 28th August at 7.30pm.
If you?re interested, but can?t make the meeting, or want to know more, contact Becky Plunkett, Community Greenspace Officer on 01506 776 542 or email becky.plunkett@westlothian.gov.uk
