Advice for single people receiving Local Housing Allowance
West Lothian Council is advising people who are affected by changes to the way that the Local Housing Allowance is paid to contact the Advice Shop.
From January 2012, anyone who is aged under-35 and who lives alone will only be entitled to an amount for a room in a shared property, currently capped at £249.99 per month.
A West Lothian Council spokesperson commented: "This change is predicted to impact on people in West Lothian and anyone who thinks they may be affected is advised to contact the Advice Shop on 01506 283000."
