West Lothian is backing recycling events
February sees the start of a national two-month campaign to encourage people to recycle more often.
In West Lothian six road show events have been arranged to help people learn more about local recycling initiatives and collection facilities. They will also highlight the benefits of recycling such as preventing materials decaying in landfill and releasing greenhouse gases.
Recycling uses less energy, and creates fewer emissions, than if we produced materials from scratch. Recycling also helps to conserve our valuable resources and supports jobs in the sector, including collection, processing and manufacturing.

Executive councillor for the environment Robert De Bold commented: "The road shows are a great opportunity to find out more about recycling and discover the range of items that can be produced from recycled material. We hope that as many people as possible will be able to visit the road show and find out more about how easy recycling is and its importance to the environment. Anyone who can't make one of the events in West Lothian can learn more by visiting the greener Scotland website: www.greenerscotland.org."
