Books on Prescription

Doctors in West Lothian now have the option to "prescribe" Self help reading materials, as an alternative or in addition to prescribing medicine to patients.

• Just take your "prescription" along to your local library and borrow the recommended book for free!

Books on Prescription is a partnership initiative between NHS Lothian (West Lothian Community Health & Care Partnership) and West Lothian Library Services.

Community Language Books

We have a selection of books available in Urdu, Polish and Chinese.

• The Urdu collections are at Carmondean & Bathgate libraries.
• The Polish collections are at Carmondean, Broxburn and Bathgate libraries.
• The Chinese collection is at Carmondean library.

These books can be ordered free from any library in West Lothian.
