Robert Burns & Highland Mary Statue Restoration
West Lothian Council and The Bathgate Historic Conservation Society have teamed up to bring the original Hamilton P McCarthy sculpture back to its former glory.
The sculpture was donated to the town of Bathgate by Robert Anderson Esq. In 1952 and was put on display in Kirkton Park. It remained there until the late 70's when the sculpture was heavily vandalised, after which it was placed in storage for many years.
The statue has now been fully restored by specialist artist Graciela Ainsworth who works exclusively in stone conservation, restoration and sculpture commissions. The sculpture is now installed permanently in the garden of the new Partnership Centre in Bathgate.
