Computers and online learning
All libraries in West Lothian provide access to computers. You can use them to:
- access the internet
- do word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations, cvs etc
- print your work
- save your work onto a memory stick (available to buy in the library)
Anyone who lives, works or takes an interest in West Lothian can join free.
Users are expected to become library members and those under 16 require permission from a parent or guardian.
Ask Scotland is an online information service provided by Scotland's public libraries, that lets you get real answers from real people. You can email a question using the online form and receive a reply within 48 hours or chat with a ibrarian using our instant messaging service, which is available 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Credo brings the facts to life with interactive maps, audio and video clips and images and facts from hundreds of reference books.
Encylopaedia Britannica - facts, figures, news and events.
Britannica Junior - homework help for primary age children
Britannica Student - the edition for older children
Driving Theory Test Pro - practice for the theory test online (only available in the library).
UK Newsstand offers access to dozens of national and local newspapers online.
Statistical Accounts of Scotland - essential sources of study of Scottish life from the 18th and 19th centuries.

accept bookings for computer sessions up to one week in advance
make appointments for those who require help in the basics, or in setting up an e-mail account
